Project 52 2022 week 48
Another week, another week closer to Christmas. Even N thinks time is whizzing by. It’s the start of Advent and we’ve already started the Christmas visits. Although I’m behind on card writing compared with normal, and still have presents to get wrapped and posted out. Here’s our week 48 of Project 52.
Sunday was a quiet one. After a few early morning starts, I was hoping for a lie in, but didn’t get one. Yawn.
On Monday it was a fast paced day at work with lots going on and trying to sort things out. Frustrating in many ways again though. N’s tennis lesson was a good one, although so cold to stand around and wait.
Tuesday was just more work and school. Not much happened.
On Wednesday things started falling into place, although some more bits dropped with short notice at work. Again. But I’m feeling more in control again. It was nice to watch them at football practice in the dry and with no wind. The OH was feeling ill all day which is very unusual.
Thursday I had a flexi day. It wasn’t the best timing with a big publication at work but I was already booked before the date was pushed back to Thursday. I went to Blenheim Palace for the inside displays of The Snow Queen. I tend to go alone to the palace because N doesn’t want to go inside. It was beautifully decorated, although the foggiest day outside didn’t make for great photos.
The evening was the Year 7 disco. I was helping out with the PTSA (and able to be nosy and see some of the kids N talks about).
On Friday it was a nice calm day at work. Quite productive too which is always good for the end of the week. Sad news that one of N’s teachers died – he’s quite sad because he really rated him as a teacher, but he’s fairly matter of fact about it. The school dealt with it well for the children.
In the evening, tennis was cancelled which I was pleased about because it was a pretty chilly day.
Saturday was a good day. It started bright and early with an away football match, at the most sloping pitch I’ve seen since playing hockey way back in my school days. And our team won 1-0. They played well considering the pitch issues, but even their opponents struggled with it too. We also had a bit of luck as they just kept missing the goal. We needed a win, so maybe that will keep us up in the first division going through to the second half of the season.
As I finish writing this, we’re off to Blenheim Palace light trail, and I can’t wait to see it.

I love being part of the PTA, you get to really know the teachers and the inner workings of the school. That Christmas tree is stunning
Hope the OH is better now. Sorry to hear about N’s teacher, sounds like school handled it well for the children. My kids have played on some terrible pitches over the years.
I remember playing on terrible hockey pitches. What was strange was that next door was a much better flatter pitch, but it must have been a tiny bit too small

Sorry to hear about N’s teacher..and right before Christmas, so sad. Glad the school dealt with it well.
Thankfully he’s dealt with it well. Must have been hard for some of the teachers and other students who’d known him longer.
Blenheim Palace light trail must have been amazing. I’ve been to a fair at Blenheim Palace before and it was lovely, the decorations in the house were gorgeous and at the fair we found churros, happy days.

The trip to Blenheim Palace sounds good. The tree is beautiful and looks huge!
I loved being on the school PTA just to have a good nosy at school life and the other kids. hehehe
That’s exactly why I like being on the PTA. Didn’t really get that involved at primary, just helping out rather than on the committee, but It’s fun being back with old NCT volunteer colleagues as well as someone we used to do Water Babies with. Small world really.
