Air fryer naan pizza recipe

I’m all for quick easy lunches, or fast snacks that are fast and easy enough to keep a teen going (and that he can easily make). This air fryer naan bread pizza is so speedy to make and cook, it’s a no brainer.

Pizzas are really versatile and customisable. You can use any base for pizza, but naan breads are super delicious.  I’ve previously used the little ones for naan bread pizzas. This time I had a pack of 2 standard ones in the larder, so used them up over a couple of days.

Don’t forget to check the size of your airfryer drawer before you put your naan bread pizza together. My air fryer’s a Ninja dual 9.5L, and the large naan breads do need the end cutting off a little so it’ll fit in the drawer.

I always tend to have pizza topping ingredients of some kind in the fridge, so I can just grab what I want. Each of us at home like something a bit different.

Pizza toppings staples

  • Cheese of your choice (grated) – we like cheddar, but this time I had a pack of grated mozzarella to use up
  • Basil & tomato pasta sauce – I always keep a tub of shop bought pasta sauce in the fridge for different recipes, it lasts in there for ages. But you can use passata or a homemade tomato sauce, or even something like pesto if you prefer.
  • Ham or pepperoni, or go fancier with cured hams like serrano or parma ham
  • Pepper – de-seed and dice it
  • Sweetcorn
  • Pineapple (my favourite with ham, although I rarely buy pineapple because I’m the only one who eats it).
  • Mushrooms

Making an air fryer naan pizza is as easy as spooning some tomato sauce on a naan, then adding the other toppings. And of course finishing with the grated cheese.

Depending on how violently your air fryer blows, you might want to squash the grated cheese down a bit into the sauce. Mine was fine and didn’t swirl the cheese around though.

If you’ve got a crisper plate in your air fryer then leave it in as it’ll help cook the underside of the naan pizza base. Do keep an eye on it to make sure it’s not over cooking. Mine was perfectly done in 5 minutes but all air fryers run a bit differently.

Be careful dropping the pizza into the drawer that it goes down straight and you don’t lose lots of toppings.

I use a fish slice/flat spatula to remove it after it’s cooked (make sure it’s a non metal one so it doesn’t scratch the inside of the drawer). We love our pizza cutter for easy cutting.

5. Air fry on 190C for 5 minutes. They might need longer depending on what cheese you’re using, size of your naan and how crispy you want your cheese and base.
