Project 52 2025 week 51
Oh it’s so nice to be at the end of a long few weeks, and now no work for 2 weeks. Bliss. Also that’s it for dancing til the new year, but hopefully I’ll manage to meet up with a couple of friends over the Christmas holidays. Here’s my week 51 for Project 52.
Sunday – lazy day, didnโt do much which was nice. Entered some competitions, watched some films, read.
Monday – back to work and school. Not much out of the ordinary happening. Wrapped all the Christmas presents before work so thatโs all done while noone was in the house..
Tuesday – busy meetings day at work. Went dancing – we did a โfunโ Christmas dance. Fun in that my friend and I couldnโt stop laughing at the ridiculous music.
I got my dance shoes back from a friendโs friend who was extending the strap for me putting in some elastic. The only issue is she seems to have put the hook buckle back on upside down so Iโm not sure theyโll stay done up.ย Iโll just have to twist the elastic over so they end up the right way. But at least Iโve now got some smarter dance sandals for socials, rather than just wearing my Fuego dance trainers all the time.
Wednesday – N was too ill with his cold and sore throat for school. Looks like he missed biology final test this term, and getting his papers back for revision, so hopefully heโll be back in before his next class to pick that up.
I was in the office, but headed in early to pick up an order from M&S. Iโd somehow managed to order extra things as they were in my basket and not in my favourites list, and I hadnโt noticed before clicking through to pay. So quite a few things might be going back.
Thursday – busy work day again. N was still off school ill. So much rain today. The OH thought I was mad going out dancing in the evening, but the roads were only a little puddly near us, but once over the county border there was no standing water at all.
Dancing was quiet being right near Christmas, but still good fun. I think pretty much all but 3 Christmas cards Iโve had have been from dancing people. Friends just arenโt sending them this year.
Friday – long day working trying to finish things off Iโve not had chance to before now. Itโll be good to start back in January having none of the little annoying things leftover to do.ย N was back at school. They finished at lunchtime, then he and a friend headed into town to play some pool and go to Nandos so I had to head in and pick him up after work.
Saturday – morning hair cut for N and a treat getting a parking space right outside the barbers. Then to the bakery, and into town for a couple of bits. Nice to have N with me as usually he wants to be dropped off home, but he wanted to check out potential (last minute) gift ideas for the OH to get (with no joy).
Otherwise not much going on. I wrapped one remaining gift, did some competitions. Iโll be watching the Strictly final (hopefully live so I can vote for once) this evening. N made some mince pies – with some doctoring of the mincemeat with a lot of brandy by the OH.

Things I’m grateful for this week:
- Getting all the little bits done for work before finishing for Christmas
- 2 weeks of leave coming up!
- Getting paid (although it’s a long wait til January’s pay) after having to tax and insure my car.
- Having some time with N actually coming out and about.
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- Laughing (a lot) at doing a Christmas line dance to a very bad, bizarre song.
- Finishing my Christmas wrapping
- Seeing all the Christmas lights when driving in the evenings.

I’ve enjoyed taking the slightly longer route home to see all the Christmas lights. I hope your dancing shoes stayed on despite the buckle being upside down. I hate this getting paid early, it’s a long time to wait till the end of January for a lot of people.
Lovely to get some dancing in before Christmas and to have 2 weeks of leave to look forward to. Glad N is feeling better. Love your Christmas tree. Hope you all have a lovely Christmas. #project365
It’s always nice when work is finished, and you have a nice, long stretch of time off to look forward to. It sounds like you have had lots of fun dancing this week, too.
Homemade mince pies are the best, especially when warm with lots of cream.
Wishing you a lovely Christmas x
That is great that you are finished work for two weeks, it’s a shame there’s no dancing though.
I am glad N is feeling better now, the mince pies sound good. hehehe
Merry Christmas to you and your family! x
