Project 52 2025 week 47

How is it week 47 already? Eek. I do have some bits sorted for Christmas, and now N’s birthday gifts. But there’s still a lot to get done, cards written and posted and presents bought and posted too. Anyway, it’s been a busy and different week, so here’s my week 47 for Project 52.

Sunday – Quick nip to the shops – spotted some nice shower gel packs that I fancy if there’s any left in the post Christmas sales (I wouldn’t spend the original price on them!).  N cleaned my car for me. It was needed, and looked very clean for all of about half a day before I drove again.

Monday – 5.30 alarm for a trip into London to see our Brazilian partners who were over for 2 days. Long day but productive and enjoyable. I really should have stayed a bit into the evening to see some of the Christmas lights but missed my opportunity for that.

Tuesday – another early start and back to London. Another good day, but slightly earlier finish so I managed to get an earlier train back, and avoid the hell that is usually getting out of the station car park and out of town post 6pm. It meant I had time to go to dancing which was good.

Wednesday – car was in for MOT so went into the office. Thankfully car passed cleanly – yay. Long day again. I’d planned to do a different dance class that evening, but I was just too tired to drive for nearly an hour each way. I arrived home to find the hall full of everything from the understairs cupboard that the OH had removed. So that was 2 hours of sorting into bin, charity, and keep. But we now have a pretty empty cupboard, and can find everything we need to.  I was knacked by the time we’d finished.

Thursday – a flexi day off, and I’d booked my annual visit to see the displays at Blenheim Palace. This year the theme was Palace of Oz – apt with Wicked Part 2 out the next day. The displays were beautiful as usual. I tasted a lot of cheese (and bought 2), and tried some indian chutneys/sauces (and bought 2 of those as well) at the Christmas market. I’m sure the market is better going with friends, or when it gets busier and in the dark. It’s always a bit of a rush round, and never seems that big considering it’s classed as one of the best in the area. Headed back to Banbury for some lunch, petrol and then home to watch some Christmas movies. No dancing due to a clash in the village hall.

Friday – back to work for a ‘short’ day but so much to do from the week. I got a lot done, but also have a lot still to do. It’s been a lot of hours worked the last couple of weeks. Chippy tea as I’d not had time to think or cook anything, then tennis for N – only 3 of them turned up.

Saturday – quick nip to the bakery near us so I could get back home and drop off bread and pastries, before heading into town. I saw Wicked: For Good at the cinema. It was a fairly early showing, but I was surprised at how many seats were empty. So many people got up and down during the film as well.  It was really brilliant, and I did have a few teary moments. Now I really want to see the musical as it’s one I’ve not seen before. Another clear out by the OH in the backroom, although not much of it was mine apart from my desk area (which I’ll clean when I want, although the desk itself could do with a sort through).

No new blog posts this week.

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:

  • Meeting our Brazilian partners face to face
  • Feeling Christmassy with cold fresh wintry weather and visiting Christmas displays and market.
  • Wicked 2

Things I’m grateful for this week:

  • The trains running on time…and seats each time too.
  • Getting to dancing on Tuesday, otherwise I’d not have done so this week.
  • Payday, it’s been an expensive month.

  1. This year is flying by isn’t it? Lovely to have a nice clean car, even if it was only for a short time. Glad it passed the MOT. Nice to have a cinema trip and glad you enjoyed seeing Wicked: For Good. I’ve not seen either film yet but I saw the stage show when it first came to the West End and loved it. #project365

  2. It has felt very Christmassy this past week. I’ve passed so many windows with trees up and lights twinkling. It cheers up the dark evenings.
Blenheim Palace sounds lovely. I would probably have come home with lots more cheese; I can’t resist a Christmas market cheese.
Great news about the MOT, it’s always a relief when it passes the first time.
I’m yet to watch the first Wicked movie, but it does look very good.

  3. These weeks are flying over!
It sounds like work was interesting and yay for the car passing it’s MOT. What a lovely time you had at Blenheim Palace. I am hoping to see Wicked: For Good sometime over the next week.
We are waiting for payday on Friday, it has been an expensive month.
