Project 52 2025 week 20
It’s been a busy week, and it’s nice to have lots going on. It’s still pretty dry but we did have a short spell of rain. I’m looking forward to having a week off for half term, but it still feels like some way away. Here’s my Project 52 week 20.
Sunday – a bit of a lazy day. Had to fix the Henry vacuum cleaner (thankfully Youtube came to my aid) so the place looked a bit tidier (for a bit). Dried the clothes outside on the clothes horse to try and get a petrol smell off the OH’s work gear, only to find afterwards that all of N’s white school shirts now have black spots in a line across the front as though a bug’s gone jumping. So they’ll need washing again and hopefully whatever it is will come out.
Monday – back to work and school. Just work stuff going on, nothing more interesting. We had rain. A thunderstorm and heavy rain with hail for about 20 minutes, then drizzle for a couple of hours. Then back to dry sun. The garden and fields could do with a bit more than that, but it was more than many people have had.
Tuesday – good dance class. I decided to risk staying for the improvers class and it was definitely much quieter than the beginners which was rammed (and boiling). Learnt a new dance in improvers which was a bit fast. But luckily I knew the other dances from the other venue. So I think it’ll be a good class to go to – hopefully double the chance for dances to stick in my brain. It’s also quite nice to see how the usual front row ‘people to follow’ dancers aren’t that great at picking up new dances. They’ve just obviously been going a long time to know lots of them already.
Wednesday – we’re on the hunt for a decent priced pizza oven. Our neighbour’s given N his old wooden cooking table/shelves unit for the garden, so a pizza oven is being requested to go on top. So I’m entering every competition I can find for them.
Thursday – busy day with me being in the office, and I’d expected to have a nightmare with logistics. In law’s picked up N from the school bus stop, then I got back from work expecting him to need taking to his clay shooting lesson. But that was cancelled, so I had a breather before heading out dancing for a couple of hours. As some other beginners have come up it means the teacher’s going through dances more slowly as they take a bit longer to pick it up. It also means fewer dances I don’t know, so I’ve got a bit more time to practice those inbetween classes.
Friday – all of a sudden the sun was gone and it was a much chillier day. They were sileaging on the farm, so N didn’t do tennis so he could go out after school with them, just coming in for tea with me for a bit. It ended up being a late night for me too and not really sleeping that well.
Saturday – early start for the last football match of the season. The boys already knew they had secured 3rd place. With a good win today, they’re within 1 point of the second placed team who’ve still one match to go against the top team. So a great season, and sounds like most of them want to carry on next year too. Boring and quiet afternoon because the OH had a headache and took over the living room, so N went to his cousin’s to kick a ball about, and I got washing done, prepped tea, did some blogging and prepped for going away.

New posts this week:
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- trying the improvers line dancing class
- listening to the birds in the morning (and evening)
- griping with other people. Sometimes it’s important to vent, and listen to others doing the same
Things I’m grateful for this week:
- looks like N will be coming for a break to Cornwall with me, as sileaging has been done already (now just to find things he’ll enjoy while away).
- having the best scoring Fantasy Football team in our league (I jumped 2 places, but unlikely to be able to catch those above)
- buttercups looking so pretty in the sun with my wild cloves blooming as well.
Sounds like the line dancing improver class was just the thing you were looking for. Enjoy the trip to Cornwall with N. They’ve done well with the football considering they’ve been a player short a few times.
Glad you’re enjoying the improver’s class. It’s good to be able to go through the dances a bit slower to help pick them up too. Well done to N and his team on a great season and finishing third. Lovely photo of the chives. #project365
The weather was not very good from what you are saying. We had very nice weather, but with work, not enough time to properly enjoy it.
A pizza oven sounds really nice. I hope you manage to win one.
I am so tempted to get a pizza oven but not convinced we will use it often. If I see any giveaways I will tag you.
Glad the line dance class was less busy, I really need to get out and do something for me
Oh thanks, that’d be good. They can be so expensive. I’m the same, don’t want to spend loads, especially as you need to also fuel them as well.
YouTube is brilliant for learning how to fix things, it’s come to my rescue more than once.
I didn’t realise you entered competitions too, I will send any pizza oven ones I see your way. Good luck!
The bird song is lovely at the moment, I never understand when I hear people complain about it; it’s the loveliest sound ever to wake up to.
That would be fab. I never know who to tag in comps
It has been dry here too. I don’t think we’ve had any rain unless it happened during the night.
I find YouTube so helpful for helping to fix things.
Good luck with getting a pizza oven, I hope you win one rather than having to buy one.
Well done to the boys at the football. x
I’m currently working out what I’ve got on top cashback to pay out, and a couple of survey sites, plus I’ve got Nectar points I can use. So can nearly afford one for free!
Well done on the dancing. And listening to the birds really is such a calming experience.
