I’m joining in Living Arrows again this year.  It’s lovely to be able to look back and see all the photos I’ve taken of N over the past year, and see how much he’s changed.  If you want to join in, it’s a lovely friendly community to take part in, you can find its home over at What the Red Head Said – click through the badge below.

In between Christmas and New Year, I wanted to make use of our National Trust membership, so we headed over to Stowe. It was one of the crisp clear winter days, perfect for a walk.  And we arrived early to miss the worst of the crowds.

With the clear weather, and the sun coming out, it meant some gorgeous photos, in particular making the most of the lake reflections.  The first picture I love – showing N peeking over the top of the Palladian Bridge side.  The second is by the Cascades.  N had just been throwing stones in, but then turned back…and seemingly wasn’t impressed to turn around and see me waiting to snap him.

I love him in a hat – and this Minion bobble hat has been a favourite.  Although he was moaning about the bobble, so I’m not sure how much longer he’ll want to wear this one over plain beanies.

  1. Lovely photos! I love a good bobble hat on my boys. And I really want to look into getting a National Trust membership; hopefully it’s worth it! x

  2. We’ve only been to stowe once but absolutely loved it. Gorgeous photos – and so lovely to have you linking up for another year x

  3. Sian - The Mama Story

Love the photos, I seem to take most photos of the back of the kids’ heads. You can’t beat a bobble hat!

    • Yes, I have a lot of back of head photos too. Makes avoiding shadows easier too!

  4. I’m hoping I can join every week too, which could be ambitious but I do love this linky. I love this shot, Emma #LivingArrows

    • Thanks Amy. It’s a nice linky because it’s quick to do, and most people make the effort to visit each others blogs. Plus of course, looking back over the year means everything is in one place too

    • Thanks Madeline. It’s strange because last year it was no bobbles, but he does love his minions hat

  5. We did exactly the same in between Christmas & NY and that’s when our #livingarrows photo was taken. I love both these shots. Great that you managed to catch him before he ran or said no! Happy new year.

    • Thanks Kerri-Ann. It is great to get out to NT. Makes for lovely photos, and just nice to take time out from anything at home that needs to be done. Happy new year to you guys too

    • Thanks Laura. I usually do surprise pictures just as he’ doing other things, by far the best for him not being worried by the camera. Happy new year
