Dare2B Veritas III waterproof jacket review

Thanks to my losing weight over the last year, my favourite waterproof 3 in 1 jacket is now miles too big. Getting the chance to review a Dare2B waterproof jacket was good timing. A chance to find the perfect jacket going into autumn and winter.

The jacket I chose was the Veritas III waterproof jacket in the blue reef colourway. I took a while to decide on the size I needed. The size chart came in handy, but Iโm pear shaped so while it was suggesting I needed a 14, I needed to allow for my bigger backside! The 16 turned out to fit well so it was a good decision made. While it won’t allow for a bit thick jumper, it still fits a lightweight jumper under, so will be good for autumn.
If youโve not come across Dare2B before, itโs part of the Regatta Group. The Dare2B aim is to provide technological advances in outerwear, to suit all types of people on mountains, bikes and more. Their ranges include cyclewear and ski wear. I love the breadth of colour choices you have. Thereโs no boring jackets in their waterproof range. They also have different colourways in most styles, and with lots of blue/green options, I found there were plenty of styles Iโd have been happy to wear.

The Veritas jacket is quite a fitted style – no boxy jackets that donโt flatter a female body. I love the colour blocking, and itโs nice to have the grey to contrast with the blue and give an even more interest.
For me, high level waterproofing is so important. N plays tennis even in a bit of rain, and I definitely need a waterproof jacket as thereโs nowhere to shelter at the courts. Itโs quite exposed so an umbrella doesnโt always do the job. Iโm looking forward to trying this Dare2B jacket at the courts.
Full of technical clothing details, this is a four season shell jacket. Itโs not really bulky, so I would need to either layer it up if it got really cold or opt for a thicker winter coat. But I think it will do nicely for most of the year. The material is waterproof and breathable, made of ARED20/20 fabric.

The zips are 2 way, and water repellent on the front, and thereโs a decent sized hood with a small peak and quick adjust cords. Thereโs 2 main waterproofed zip pockets, with a smaller chest pocket, and zipped internal pocket. Handy for keeping small items in like phone and cards without worrying about them falling out. The main zip being 2 way is my only issue with the jacket. I struggle to open the bottom of the zip when undoing the jacket, without the 2 way opening kicking in. I assume itโll just take a bit of time to get used to but would have preferred just a normal one way zip.
The breathability is aided by the underarm zips. I thought these might have been uncomfortable, but I donโt even notice theyโre there.

Itโs a fully lined jacket, and the adjustable velcro cuffs means I donโt find the arms falling well over my hands. The arms are a good length – I need to pull in the cuffs to keep them the right length. So if youโve got long arms this jacket should fit well. The hood is also a good size, big enough to fully cover the head, without being so large it droops over your face.
I’ve worn it out and about including while driving, and because it’s not bulky and thick, it’s pretty comfortable to wear when sitting down as well s walking around.
Iโm looking forward to wearing my Dare2b jacket into the autumn.

Ohh! This jacket looks and sounds fab! Perfect for the weather we’ve been having lately. You look great in it. x
Thanks Kim. It’s nice to have a jacket finally that fits, and is practical without being too heavy and thick
